131 Books Project
131 reference books translated into Turkish, following his passing, were never published.

It is significant that 131 reference books were authored by unbias foreign scholars who wrote about the Turks' contributions to civilization and that Atatürk personally financed their translations to make them accessible to the Turkish people and researchers.
Project Steps
Identifying the Books
The list of these translated books and their full translations have yet to be publicly released. Only the marked pages and Turkish translations of the sources that Atatürk read, underlined, and took notes on have been published by the Anıtkabir Association in a 24-volume collection titled "Books Read by Atatürk".
Translation to Modern Turkish
Until the full list of translated reference books is revealed, we have decided to base our project on European sources that Atatürk actively marked while reading. A comprehensive list of these sources has been compiled by scanning the 24-volume collection. Some of these works have been translated into modern Turkish and are available on the market. However, the original editions of majority of sources, whose copyright terms have expired but have yet to be translated, can be accessed online.
Printed and Electronic Versions
The translation and publication of these works into modern Turkish—whether as printed books or PDFs—requires a long-term effort.
